Education
I am a graduate of the University of Sussex, where I studied and gained a BA joint Honours Degree in English Literature and Western Philosophy. I gained 3 good A-levels with one A-level taken in one year. After graduating I discovered that I was dyslexic and decided to start to assist other dyslexics unlock their talents and get over problems with mainstream education. I worked in a specialist unit attached to a secondary school where I assisted both mainstream students as well as students with statements of special educational needs. I have experience of tutoring children, teenagers, as well as adults at a variety of levels all the way up to degree level. Whatever your requirement, I will work with you to help you achieve and improve on any areas you wish. I work collaboratively with the student and I have a lot of dyslexia training as well as experience and can help you.
Experience
Study Skills Tutor, University of Surrey. Over 7 years experience of helping children from age 5-right through secondary school age - to young people sitting their A-Levels. I am experienced at tutoring dyslexic and non-dyslexics alike. Also, experience at tutoring at degree level, where I ran study skills workshops. I have extensive training and understanding of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and am passionate in assisting individuals unlock and fulfil thier potential. I find it hugely rewarding and have made a difference to a lot of peoples' educational experience. I am also passionate about helping people of all ages to achieve and enjoy and fulfill thier educational potential. Education is a journey and I am experienced and an excellent teacher. I worked as a teacher abroad, teaching english. I have written a published book. I care a lot and am talented at assisting others to fulfill thier potentials, to enjoy education, and also to achieve at the same time.
